OK it's not big and it's not epic and they never, so far as I know, jammed out on it, but it's a damned good song. So,to make up somewhat for the rough handling of my fellow forumite and good buddy Dr Direwolf by the odious Spaced Cadet recently I'd like to hear nominations for your favourite Dire Wolf.

Mine would be Fillmore East 1/2/70. They start off playing a little two-step vamp, featuring Pigpen on organ, then Garcia says: 'This is a song with an easy chorus and you can even sing with it - it's fun.' And off they go into a cute as hell rendition.

So, any others?

Agree with you and CLIFF; most any from Feb or May, 70, will do for me...has to be acoustic/electric.

Don't actually have a specific one in mind.

Cliff digs the acoustic versions, particularly the Harpur show 5/2/70 (DP #8). This is the version where you can hear Bobby say "I smell gunpowder"

Another great acoustic version...
